When I was little, I wanted to play in the NBA. Now, I want to become a pro pickleball player.

I recently picked up the sport and I'm addicted to it, maybe even obsessed. And after three months, I've watched myself improve fast. Players who used to beat me, I now crush. People who wouldn't play me, now invite me to their intense backyard games.

I haven't had this competitive drive and desire to improve since working to play college basketball. I caught the bug, and now I'm inspired, more than ever, to do something about it.

Bottom line — I'm going "all-in" for 12 months to become a pro. AND I'll document the entire journey here in this newsletters.

What does "go all-in" mean?

At its core, it's investing.

  • Investing time weekly to train hard & smart.

  • Investing money into working with a coach.

  • Investing time & money to travel to tournaments and play.

  • Investing time to build relationships with the best players so I can play in the best games & improve fastest.

What does "document the entire journey" mean?

I’m going to write blog posts and film content!

At the end of the day, why am I doing this?

I'm an ambitious kid with big dreams. Plain and simple.

Too often, people have big goals, but never "get around to them."

Now becomes later, and later becomes never.

I want to be different. I want to live different. I want to pursue things I love and inspire others along the way. That's why I'm doing this.

By taking this on, I'd combine what I love most — competing in sports & creating content online.

A few months ago, I wrote and performed a poem called, "what do you want?" Over the last few months, I've considered that question more and more.

And now more than ever, I feel clear in what I want most — to pursue this dream.

Thanks for reading!

Until next time, Kyle
