The strategy is being specifically taught by Helle Sparre - also a senior PRO player. Her program is "Dynamite Doubles" and comes directly from having played professional tennis. As she moved into pickleball, brought that strategy with her and is now teaching that through her program - which is much more in depth when purchased. You can see her YouTube videos but the teaching on court with her and through the Dynamite Doubles course is very specific - much of what you see Collin/Ben doing now. Great, Great interview with Collin on this link. Great comparison with volleyball as well. Again, it's all about geometry and having a plan AND knowing what your role is as a partner. Collin speaks specifically to that in regard to his role when playing with Ben. Powerful stuff! Take a look!

Collin Johns joins the PicklePod and breaks down pro pickleball strategy like we have never seen before. Thomas and Casey try to keep up with court geometry, attacking angles and why doubles pickleball is not meant to be a 50/50 game. Grab your pen and notebook for this one, you’re gonna need it.

Ben and Collin spend an immense amount of time drilling. I don’t think the average team regardless of rating level have that type of commitment or time at their disposal. So, what works for them may not always work for others. Other than that this is very informative to most anyone that aspires to make doubles their mainstay. Nicely broken down and explained for any novice to grasp. I urge those that have read this to apply it even while watching the two possibly consistently best players in the world. There is much to be said for their confidence level going up against anyone on the other side of the net. Thank you for a very informative article. Lots to take away that most don’t comprehend on their own. Cheers! 😉👍
